MEET South West

MEET South West is open for business!

MEET South West has opened its doors, inviting members of the region’s event industry to exhibit at a show with a twist. Rather than a traditional exhibition where visitors are greeted by companies who have “paid to display”, MEET South West are turning the tables in the visitors’ favour by asking exhibitors to apply for a place in the exhibition.

Thomas Heiser, MEET South West Co-founder explains: “The objective is simple - draw together the most innovative companies in the South West’s event industry to create a show in which every exhibitor will bring something unique. From little-known venues to the latest event tech, the show will be designed to surprise and inspire. We are creating the kind of show we’d all like to attend”.

To further ensure the quality of the exhibition the Co-founders have taken the decision to cap the maximum stand size to 3m and have set the minimum at just 1m. “When you’re doing something great you don’t need a huge stand to shout about it. Our focus is to get as many amazing businesses in the room as we can.” continues Thomas.

Featuring three streams of workshops and presentations, networking and an industry drinks reception, MEET South West will provide a unique opportunity for to learn, network and do business - ensuring visitors leave buzzing with ideas to improve their next events.

Interest has already been received from event buyers at Rathbones, Royds Withy King, Ovo Energy, University of Bristol, Triodos Bank, AM PM PA, Bristol City Council, Handelsbanken, Plan International UK, DAC Beachcroft, TSB Bank plc, Inntel Ltd, Bishop Fleming and more. The show will also welcome pre-qualified buyers from outside the region hosted by MEET South West Alliance Partners Destination Bristol and Visit Bath.

Businesses interested in exhibiting are asked to complete a brief application before the 4th October when a Steering Committee will evaluate the applications and invite a selection of companies to take part. Together with the MEET South West Co-founders the committee includes Kathryn Davis, Head of Tourism, Destination Bristol; Paul Colston, Managing Editor, Conference Division, Mash Media; and corporate event planners from two South West businesses.
