About BVEP

The Business Visits & Events Partnership (BVEP) is an umbrella organisation representing leading trade and professional organisations, government agencies and other significant influencers in the business visits and events sector.

BVEP’s vision is to support sustainable growth for the United Kingdom’s Events Industry.

The Events Industry comprises a number of diverse industry sectors covering, meetings, conferences, exhibitions, trade shows, incentive travel, event hospitality, ceremonies, sporting, cultural and festivals as well as other services provided to travellers and attendees to events.

BVEP’s mission is to support growth across the entire sector via advocacy, networking, collaboration and a collective voice.

BVEP’s objectives are to:
a) operate an umbrella organisation to represent, promote and further the interest of member organisations involved in the United Kingdom Events Industry;
b) advance the interests, standing, quality, sustainability and growth of the United Kingdom Events’ Industry;
c) seek greater collaboration across the Events’ Industry sectors on common issues;
d) forge close links with Government departments, including devolved Governments where possible via Representation, that can influence favourable policies towards the Industry. In particular, maintain strong relationships with key sponsoring departments, DCMS, DIT and BEIS;
e) seek a stronger link with the Creative Industries and other related sectors;
f) encourage joint events;
g) increase the focus on professionalism and skills development.

How do we collect information about you?

We collect information about you if the organisation you work for becomes a member of the BVEP and you are named as BVEP representative for your organisation. We may also collect information when you voluntarily complete surveys and/or provide feedback and have expressed an interest in receiving information from the BVEP relating to news and information of relevance to the Business Visits and Events Industry.

Website usage information is collected using cookies.

How will we use the information?

If the organisation you work for has become a member of BVEP and you are named as BVEP representative or you have expressed an interest in keeping updated with BVEP matters, we will contact you about information we consider to be a legitimate interest to you and/or the BVEP such as events industry initiatives, health and safety information, industry networking opportunities, research, resources and training and development opportunities that will support your role in the events industry.

On occasion we may also send you information from our partners and sponsors that we think may be of interest to you.

Data Sharing

We have consulted the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) guidance. For occasions where we deem data sharing to be a legitimate interest to the data subject such as sharing dietary requirements with venue catering teams and delegate lists for networking at our member events, we will conduct a legitimate interest (LI) balancing test and inform delegates of what data will be shared, who it will be shared with and where it may be published.

Other than where we have deemed it relevant to conduct an LI test, we will not share your information with third parties unless you have provided consent for us to do so, either as part of a contractual agreement, via a registration process for the events, products and services we provide or by other means.

Event Industry "Backs Britain" at Launch of Britain for Events 2012/13

Senior industry professionals backed Britain at the launch of the Britain for Events 2012/13 campaign last night. Over 100 events industry professionals attended the launch at IET London: Savoy Place as well as representatives from government and business including UK Sport, the Tourism Alliance, DCMS, and UK Border Agency.
