BVEP confirms key roles on Executive Committee

The Business Visits and Events Partnership (BVEP) has confirmed the re-election of several key executive committee members to kick start the new year.

Samme Allen and Dr Caroline Jackson are confirmed as Vice Chairs for a further two year period. They join Chris Skeith and Simon Hughes who both continue as Vice Chairs for a further one year.

Welcoming the appointments, BVEP Chairman Michael Hirst OBE, said:

“I am delighted that Samme and Caroline have been re-elected to their positions on the Committee. Their appointments provide much needed continuity as the Partnership steps up its role to offer partner organisations the opportunity for greater collaboration in pursuit of more growth in Britain’s all important events sector. There has never been a more crucial time for the industry’s leading representative bodies to work together to make the most of a much clearer understanding of what a co-ordinated approach by the sector can achieve for the UK economy”.

Dr Caroline Jackson, Senior Principal Academic at Bournemouth University, said:
“I am excited to be able to continue as Vice Chair of BVEP for the next two years. I believe that it takes time and commitment to make a difference and there are still opportunities to further the professional, educational and research agenda of events within the broad church that is the Business Visits and Events Partnership”.

Samme Allen, Founder and Director of the Sequoia Partnership, said:
“2018 will bring exciting opportunities to build on the momentum created by BVEP, not least from the legacy of the outstanding Business of Events Leadership Forum last year. BVEP is a unique position to enable cross-sector collaboration to manage both the huge challenges and opportunities we face as event professionals. I’m excited to continue to play a part in growing our industry’s ever-expanding potential”.
