Business Visits & Events Partnership ‘delighted’ with The Business of Events Programme

The Business Visits & Events Partnership (BVEP) has welcomed the current series of events being held as part of the Business of Events (TBOE) programme and has said they are ‘delighted’ that the main activities are being so strongly attended by industry leaders, senior politicians and key influencers. A number of Ministers, including Michael Ellis MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Members of Parliament and other senior government officials, are due to attend the events.

TBOE Wales, held at the Celtic Manor Resort in partnership with both Visit Wales and ICC Wales, saw over 100 event industry leaders from across Wales kick off the programme on October 5th, beginning with a visit by the UK Events Industry Board and officials from the Department of Digital, Media & Sport.

The programme continues next week, October 25th – 26th, with the PCMA London Knowledge Exchange, Parliamentary Debate, Senior Leadership Reception, Senior Leaders Dinner, which is being held at The Royal Society, and Senior Leadership Forum, which is being held at the QEII Centre.

Michael Hirst OBE, Chair of the BVEP, said. “The Business of Events clearly demonstrates the Industry is keen to show it is ready to have a pivotal role in Britain’s future economic success. The use of events to showcase Britain’s trade opportunities and attract more international visitors to Britain will be a strong part of the focus of the programme. The trade and professional associations that make up the BVEP are delighted to support this welcome and important initiative”.

The Business of Events is a series of independent cross sector events created in partnership with VisitBritain and supported by DCMS, BVEP, Events Industry Board and the All Party Parliamentary Group for the UK Events Industry. Partners for this year’s programme include ibtm events, The Scottish Events Campus, Visit Wales, VisitScotland, ICC Wales, Cvent, drp and the newly formed Aberdeen Convention & Events Bureau.
