The publishers of a planned new report into the size and value of Britain’s events sector are calling for contributions from industry representatives.

The Business Visits and Events Partnership’s “Insights into Britain’s Events Sector” will explain and promote the size and value of Britain’s events industry, its characteristics, trends, opportunities and key issues. The report will be used to profile the sector to politicians, media, related industries and the wider business community. It will also act as a valuable resource and reference for those working in the UK’s events industry.

Events to play major role in Tourism Sector Deal as it advances to next stage

The government has signalled its intention to agree a landmark Tourism Sector Deal for the UK tourism industry in a bid to attract more domestic and overseas visitors and help drive major economic growth.

The UK events sector, which is worth more than £42.3bn a year to the economy, is set to play a major role in the delivery of the plan, that will focus on boosting productivity by better utilisation of existing capacities, extending the season and attracting more business visitors and event attendees to all parts of the UK.

New Events Apprenticeship Website Launches

The ongoing growth of the Event Management Apprenticeship programme marks a new milestone with the launch of its new web portal. At the same time a new name is applied to the programme, now known as Get into Events, and can be seen here www.getintoevents.org.uk

This new hub of information will be further developed in the coming months, providing a central resource of information for employers, apprentices, and industry stakeholders.

The Business of Events Senior Leadership Forum today celebrated a wealth of shared knowledge with attendees having a combined 3,788 years, 9 months and five days experience in the events industry.

Today’s event welcomed more than 100 senior leaders from the events industry, government officials and Members of Parliament.
